This presentation about Nunavut and Canada's Arctic is entertaining and informative, with some beautiful arctic slides, and a display of Inuit arts and crafts, soapstone carvings and traditional items. This presentation is suitable for Grades 1–12, and is followed by a 15 - 20 minute question and answer session.

Soapstone carving was once a practical art of great importance for the Inuit...they would create tools and weapons for survival using their skills as artisans. Today soapstone carving is used to create works of art rather than tools. It is a medium unique to the Inuit culture of Arctic Canada.

This presentation looks at the issue of global warming in the Canadian Arctic and its effect on our northern people and wildlife. Global Warming a Northern Perspective is a 50 minute presentation that illustrates why the arctic is unique, and why it is more sensitive to climate change than other parts of our planet.
